A Family Gem in the Dallas Hills: Benedetto Vineyards

While searching online for highly rated wineries in the Willamette Valley, Benedetto Vineyards kept popping up with glowing reviews. We decided to check it out, and we’re so glad we did.We started at their tasting room in Dallas at 14020 Orchard Knob Rd just a quick drive west of Salem. The moment we walked in, the vibe felt new, upbeat and welcoming.

What immediately stood out is that Benedetto isn’t following the typical Willamette Valley script. While many wineries focus almost exclusively on elegant Pinot Noir, this is a true family operation that also celebrates bold, vibrant reds especially their Gamay Noir, alongside beautiful whites and Chardonnays. We loved their bright 2023 Pinot Gris and the juicy 2024 Gamay Noir, but the Reserve Pinot Noir and their special Cynthia’s Chardonnay were real standouts.

Benedetto Vineyards began in 2017 when they planted Gamay Noir at their Shipman Vineyard southeast of Salem. Not long after, they acquired a mature vineyard of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay just outside Dallas. Today, everything is family-owned and operated with care and affection you can truly taste the passion in every bottle.

They’ve earned some impressive recognition too: multiple Best of Willamette Valley awards (four years running), including Gold for their Wine Club and Live Music events, plus high scores like a 97-point Platinum Award for their Shipman Vineyard Gamay Noir.

If you’re looking for a friendly, down-to-earth winery with excellent wines and a beautiful setting, Benedetto Vineyards is a gem worth visiting. It’s the kind of place that feels like coming home
Cheers,
Dave & Carla
